FIGHTING HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Because you care, repatriation of victims of human trafficking is taking place.

Obadiah's* mom moved to Asia to find a better life and ended up working in the sex industry.  She was killed in an accident, which left him orphaned.  Red Oak helped provide orphan care, provided for his immediate needs,  and assisted in his repatriation process.  He is now connected to extended family and they are in the process of adopting him.

Stella* was trafficked to the 10/40 window from Columbia with promises of a better job.  She was hoping for a better life for her two children.  Red Oak was able to work with the local Columbian consulate to provide care and ultimately immigration back to Columbia where she was reunited with family.  Stella was connected with a new partner in her hometown so she could continue long-term care for survivors of human trafficking.

MOBILIZING CROSS-CULTURAL WORKERS

The Launch Global team helped coordinate a nationwide day of prayer for Muslims in Thailand. In one church, a local believer, K, led her small church of 15 people in prayer for Muslims. After that prayer time, one woman felt convicted by the Holy Spirit that she should share with her Muslim coworkers. She shared with her 2 Muslim co-workers, and led both of them and their husbands, and another friend, to faith in Jesus! 5 people came to know Jesus simply through the Holy Spirit convicting a local believer's heart in prayer!

ADVANCING THE GOSPEL

Layla*, an Iraqi refugee of Shia background, contacted us last month saying that she wanted to ‘walk on the right path’. She told a member of our response team that she had become convinced that Islam could not be true because of the violence and killing she had seen and because of its oppression of women. Christianity was totally new to her, but she had noticed peace, tranquility, and honesty in the lives of Christians. As our colleague explained salvation and new life in Christ, Layla realized that Christianity was completely different from Islam and began to cry. That same day she gave her life to Christ. She’s now studying the Gospel of Matthew with the responder.
